Many people ask what is GED?  GED is the short form of General Educational Development. There is a common misconception where people refer to GED as General Equivalency Diploma or General Educational Diploma but that is not true.

The answer to ‘what is GED?’ is that it is an educational medium which allows you to get the equivalent of high school diploma; more commonly referred to as GED certificate or credential.

So, what is GED? It is a chance for you to get into college with a high school equivalency certificate.

The third part is the social studies where you will learn about geography, history, economics, civics and government. The fourth part is science where you will be taught physical science, earth science, life science and space science.

Mathematics is the fifth and the final part. Here you will study measurement, geometry, number operations, number sense, algebra, functions, patterns, statistics, data analysis and probability.

Each GED test is ranked out of the maximum score of 800. So, the highest point that can be gained is 4000. On an average the marks of high school graduate is a 500 on each test with a total score of 2500.

To pass the GED test you need to score 450 on each test out of 800. You can take GED courses online for free.

There are lots of web contents available for free which can provide you with study material. You can find books online or seek them in your local library.

The biggest problem with GED test is that if you try to study alone. It is very convenient to study from home via online courses that are free but it is very hard to study by yourself when you are not in a physical class.
